Graduated in horn in 1989, under the tutoring of Pietro Anfuso. He collaborated with sicilian lyric and symphonic institution, including the Teatro “Vincenzo Bellini” in Catania, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana (EAOSS) in Palermo, the Orchestra Franco Ferrara, the Orchestra Mediterranea in Palermo, the Orchestra of “Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese”,  in which he received the attestation of competence in competitions and auditions.

Graduated in choral music and choir conducting at the Conservatorio V. Bellini of Palermo, with honors, with the publication of the thesis, recording and re-execution of the graduation concert under the tutoring of Nunzio Scibilia in 2008.

He attended the master in “Foniatria  artistica” with Franco Fussi, the master in “Orchestral conducting” with Aldo Ceccato, the master in orchestral “Baroque Vocality” with Sonia Prina.

In 2002 he directed the Coro Polifonico Regina Pacis of Altavilla Milicia, in 2005 he founded the homonymous Schola Cantorum with which in 2008 he won the first prize at the regional competition “Primavera in Fiore” in Rosolini, Siracusa.

 

In 2009 he was awarded at the national competition “Ercolano in Canto”, he won 2 first prize at the fifth national “Musica d’Insieme” in Campobasso, in 2010 and in 2011 he won the first prize at the national competition “Concorso Nazionale di Minori” (Sa) with 110 out of 110.  In May 2014 he won the first prize with 110 out of 110 at the national competition “Padre Pino Puglisi” in Palermo.

In 2008 he directed the Coro Polifonico“Tomas Luis de Victoria” in Palermo.

In 2008 he made the transcription of the "Miserere a quattro voci" unpublished piece for choir and orchestra by Pietro Raimondi, conducting the first performance with the choir Regina Pacis and the Orchestra Sinfonica of its conservatorio.

In April 2009 he conducted the lyric choir and the Orchestra of the Conservatorio Bellini of Palermo at the cathedral of Monreale, on the third anniversary of the death of Pope John Paul II, with music by Haydn and Mozart. In 2009 he founded the “Gruppo Vocale Euphené” with which in November 2011 he won the award for the best vocal and technical performance at the tenth edition of sacred music in Alessandria della Rocca ( Ag);  in April 2012, he won the first prize with the score 98/100 points at the 17th national competition “Benedetto Albanese” as well as the artistic prize for various artistic merits. In May 2012 he won the special prize for the performance of profane polyphony of ‘500 at the second national competition of choral music “Antonio Guanti” in Matera. In November 2012 he won the first prize at the eleventh festival of sacred music at Alessandria della Rocca and in 2014 the first prize at the Fifth national competition “Eliodoro Sollima” in Enna with the score 100/100.

In November 2012 he graduated at the two-year specialization course of choir conducting “Musica Antica” with honors.

From 2011 to 2014 he directed the “Coro Rinascimentale Barocco” of the Conservatorio Vincenzo Bellini of Palermo.

In 2012 he directed the  “Coro Elia” of Palermo.

From August 2012 he is the curator and coordinator of the musical season of the “Centro Culturale Dionisia”.

In 2013 he founded and debuted with the “Coro Symposium” that consists of 80 choristers, which use a repertoire for choir and orchestra with the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, working for the Rotary Club Palermo at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and on June 23, 2015 in the church of San Domenico for the translation of the remains of magistrate Giovanni Falcone. Working for the GAL, the Requiem by Mozart with M. Alberto Veronesi.

Recordings:  CD “La Cattedrale” with the vocal group Euphoné, which contains choral pieces, T.L. De Victoria, Kodaly, A Maniaci, produced and distributed by Wiki Music of Milan.

From 2011 to today he is a trainer in over 20 Masterclasseses targeted at choir conductors, choristers and liturgical conductors throughout Sicily, using the Non-Idiomatic Reticular Method, that I conceived and experienced, in which I use my previous experiences of singer, instrumentalist, teacher and choir director.

He took part as “arranger and choir conductor” to the realization of the film “Seven Days”, produced by Peacock Film, a film production company based in Zurich, with the director Rolando Colla.  In  2015 and in 2016 he held the role of chairman at the festival of sacred music in Alessandria Della Rocca and in 2016 he was a member of the jury of the XXII contest “Benedetto Albanese” in Caccamo, for the Cori Polifonici section. 

In July 2016, he directed, with the vocal group Euphoné, various concert of Renaissance music in Slovenia with stops in Kranj, Ljubljana and Postumia, after that he produced a CD. 

In October 2016 he took part as trainer and director on the set of the "chorus of forest" in the feature film "L'Ora Legale" of Ficara and Picone, for Medusa Film.

 

In November 2016 with the Chorus Symposium conducts two concerts in Paris in two prestigious churches: Eglise Sant Eugenie and Cecilie and in the packed Eglise Saint-Louis-En-L'Ile with Renaissance / Baroque repertoire with accompaniment to the organ of M. Alberto Maniaci.

Over the past forteen years, as a director he has performed in over 400 concerts of choral music, in various festivals, among which the most representative are: Gli Amici della Musica, A.gi.mus, U.C.A.I. festival of ancient music in Palermo, Stagione Eliodoro Sollima, Stagione concertistica del Conservatorio V.Bellini di Palermo, GAL sezione Est. 

 

Since October 2016 working for the governing board of the Faculty of Basic Theology San Luca Evangelist in Palermo, he is a teacher of “ Corso triennale di Musica Sacra and Choir Conducting” for the diocese of Palermo.
